Book Club
Please join us at the June 17 meeting, hosted by Monica D. Her book is The Rules of Visiting by Jessica Francis Kane. A beautifully observed and deeply funny novel of a university gardener who sets out on an odyssey to reconnect with four old friends over the course of a year. The July 15 meeting will be hosted by Barb S. at Raintree Park. Her book is Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant by Curtis Chin. A memoir of growing up in 1980’s Detroit, navigating identity, race, and sexuality within the bustling environment of his family’s Cantonese restaurant. Contact Barb to RSVP. Evening Euchre

We are trying something new this year. We are going to have a summer euchre party for the first time. Marissa H. has graciously volunteered to host this party. When a date has been decided, an email will be sent and you can sign up at that time. So, get ready for “Euchre in July”!

Ladies Game Night (Girls’ Night Out)
It has been a fun year of playing games, old and new, gathering with friends and laughing along with some competition. A big thank you to all that have hosted and attended this year.

Ladies Pickleball
Indoor pickleball is over for the year. We’ll start again in October. We may play outside during the summer but there are no definite plans at this time. If you are interested in playing outside during the summer, please let Michele B. know. See you in October!
Mah Jongg
Mah jongg is one of the few Newcomer activities that runs year-round. But, because people have schedule changes, the best way to be sure you know when and where mah jongg is playing is to make sure you’re on Jane E.’s mailing list.
It’s pretty much assured we’re playing on June 12th at 9:30 am. We may move June 26th at 1 pm either to a different date or elsewhere. For July, we’re tentatively scheduled for the 10th at 9:30 and the 24th at 1:00. Play will be at Jane E.’s home, unless you are otherwise informed by email.

Meadow Brook Ushering
Our next performance is Always a Bridesmaid. Our dates to usher run from Wednesday, June 10 to Sunday, June 14, 2026. Please arrive at the theatre 45 minutes prior to showtime and remain in the lobby for instructions. Remember, if you are unable to make your commitment, it is up to you to find a replacement from the Usher & Sub List. We hope this comedy brings some laughter into your life!

Scrapbooking
Come join us as we share and scrap our memories on Monday June 22 from 11am to 3pm. We will meet at the Scrapbook Tree located at 48099 Van Dyke Ave. Shelby Township. The cost is $10 or you can spend $10 in product and crop for free. You are welcome to bring a lunch or snacks as well. Please let Darcel know if you can attend.

Widows Group
Our next meeting will be another potluck at the home of JoAnn B. on 6.16.26 starting at 6:30 pm. JoAnn’s home backs up to a neighborhood park so we are hoping for beautiful weather so we can enjoy her new deck. All those who have lost a partner are welcome. Wine Tasting
The June wine tasting will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 6:30pm. Jo Ann B. will host the wine tasting at her home. Please RSVP to Jo Ann by Wednesday, June 17.
Each wine tasting evening is hosted by a Troy Newcomer member. The members attending may bring a spouse or friend along with an appetizer, their wine glasses and $10 per wine drinker which will contribute to the cost of the wine. Those who do not drink wine are welcome to attend. They will bring an appetizer but are not asked to pay the $10. When you RSVP, let the hostess know if you will not be drinking wine. The hostess chooses the wines she would like to serve. The hostess supplies the coffee and desserts. This activity is held once a month on a Friday or Saturday evening of the hostess’s choice beginning at 6:30pm.
